Our story
2011
When Cat and John first met, they were young Melbourne Uni kids with no inkling of the journey they would take together around the world.
John was a forever uni student, studying maths for his Bachelor degree while Cat took extra finance classes to hang out with John. (She had no interest in finance.)
Cat studied biochemistry and then law, while John’s Bachelor of Science turned into a Master’s, which then turned into a PhD. Cat told John he should consider a job. He took one in Hong Kong.

Going on 7 years of dating, Cat figured it would be a long while before they tied the knot, so it was a genuine surprise when John proposed. With a romantic sunset as the backdrop, on the island of Paros in Greece, John asked Cat to marry him — to which she said, “Are you serious?”. And then, of course, “Yes”.
2020
A date was set for March 2020, but then the world went topsy-turvy. Not knowing when they might be able to return to Melbourne, Cat and John tied the knot in Hong Kong on 25 September 2021 with a small group of friends in attendance, and family on video to witness the occasion.
Reflecting their love of travel to Japan, the two had their civil ceremony at Mizunara, a Japanese whisky bar with a courtyard garden.
